
Dr. Carlos A. Sariol
About
Dr. Carlos A. Sariol is a physician-scientist and clinical researcher with nearly two decades of experience leading clinical trials and more than 30 years of experience in medicine, infectious diseases, and virology. Since founding Latin Clinical Trial Center (LCTC) in 2006, he has overseen the successful execution of more than 85 Phase I-IV clinical studies and contributed to the development and approval of more than 10 therapeutic products across cardiometabolic, cardiovascular, immunologic, infectious disease, vaccine, and hepatology indications. Through a well-established network of community physicians and healthcare partners, Dr. Sariol has expanded patient access to clinical research throughout Puerto Rico while maintaining high standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and patient care.
Dr. Sariol earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Institute of Medical Sciences in Havana, Cuba, and completed postgraduate training in infectious diseases and virology at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kourí. He also serves as Director of the Virology Laboratory and Caribbean Primate Research Center at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he continues to advance translational and clinical research initiatives.
