Dr. Carlos A Pantojas

Dr. Carlos A. Pantojas is a board-certified rheumatologist with more than 35 years of clinical practice experience and extensive involvement in clinical research focused on autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Throughout his career, he has served as an investigator and Principal Investigator on numerous Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials in rheumatology, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), lupus nephritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain. As a Principal Investigator at the Latin Clinical Trial Center (LCTC), Dr. Pantojas has led and contributed to the successful execution of clinical research studies evaluating innovative therapies for complex rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. He is recognized for his longstanding commitment to advancing treatment options for patients while maintaining a patient-centered approach to both clinical care and research.
Dr. Pantojas earned his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Rheumatology, at San Juan City Hospital. In addition to his private practice in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, he has served as a consultant, educator, and leader within Puerto Rico’s rheumatology community, contributing to both clinical excellence and the advancement of research in autoimmune diseases. Through his work at LCTC and his decades of clinical experience, Dr. Pantojas continues to bridge cutting-edge research with compassionate patient care, helping to improve outcomes for individuals living with chronic rheumatic conditions.
